Port Master Planning
Master Planning Studies include port master planning, land use plan, port infrastructure planning, location and selection of material handling system and equipments. Selection, location and proper alignment of berth, analysis of berth occupancy and material storage requirement, other ancillary facilities for port terminal, basic engineering of the civil structures, cost estimates, construction planning and management and basic engineering of ports and shipyards.

Pre Feasibility Study

Port Project
Pre feasibility of ports includes broad-scope feasibility study including site characteristics and assessment, selection of location, lay-out and alternative arrangements, port connectivity analysis, cargo forecast & demand survey, material handling system, stack area requirement, berth requirement, phase wise investment & development as well as techno-economical feasibility and revenue forecast studies.

Shipyard Project
Pre feasibility for shipyards includes site characteristics assessment, selection of yard location, layout and temporal planning of shipyard, Shipyard Capacity Analysis, developing shipyard phased evolution models and techno-economical viability studies.

Detailed Project Report (DPR)
GMEC holds sound expertise for the preparation of DPR including comprehensive engineering inputs. The DPR services are broadly packaged as follows.

DPR for Ports
DPR for ports includes detailed engineering on the basis of port master planning. Components of the master plan such as port infrastructure, material handling system and equipments, alignment of berth, and cargo storage structures are thoroughly analyzed and re-designed. DPR also encompasses detailed engineering of the structures, cost estimates, construction schedules and detailed drawings of other ancillary facilities for port terminal.

DPR for Shipyard
DPR of Shipyards entails detailed engineering based on shipyard master planning in accordance with the vessel type, land use plan, shipyard infrastructure planning, selection, location and proper alignment of dry dock, slipways, etc., including other ancillary facilities for the yard , comprehensive engineering of the structures, cost estimates construction schedules and detailed drawings.

Planning and Engineering of Marine Structures
The activity involves planning, detailed engineering and structural design of marine and related structures by conceptualizing complex structural problems, understanding behavior of structures and developing appropriate model with consideration of economical aspects, interacting competently with the members of project team by fulfilling codal provisions & detailed drawings. Design and testing of the designs is performed on latest engineering softwares.

Project Management Services
GMEC has a vast experience in providing project management services at the pre and post construction stages of the projects. This involves preparation of tender document, tender procedure, and selection of contractors, site supervision, quality control and safety aspects.

Environment Impact Assessment and Management Plan
Marine environmental services includes due diligence studies for citing of port and harbors, intake channels, marine discharge outfall location, rapid & comprehensive marine Environmental Impact Assessment, and formulation of Environmental Management Plans for a range of sensitive locations. Advisory pertaining to CRZ and obtaining ground survey based CRZ line is an important component of coastal marine study capability.
Tangible deliverables include environmental clearance from the competent authorities as per latest EIA norms.

GMEC is capable enough to carry out qualitative and qualitative Risk Assessment (based on consequence analysis for flammable and toxic material), formulation of Disaster Management Plan based on the RA, safety and fire fighting system design for port operations including handling and storage of diverse hazardous cargo and wastes.

Hydraulic Model Studies
GMEC has sound proficiency in hydraulic model studies which includes the mathematical model of the structures, sedimentation and erosion pattern, capital and maintenance dredging, wave modeling, flow modeling and mooring analysis.

Third Party Inspections
Inspection services involve proof checking of designing report, construction inspection, bill checking, quality control, etc.
